Shipper/Receiver – Parts Driver

POSITION SUMMARY:

Primary function is to conduct all Shipping/Receiving activities for the company as well as operate a company vehicle to pick up & deliver various products.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Arrange for freight carrier pick ups & complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Completion of waybills, obtain rate quotes & add to sales orders when required.
  • Package all product in a safe, consistent, & professional manner.
  • Pick orders from inventory as required.
  • Receive all company shipments of inventory & non-inventory products.
  • Unpack, check, & store supplies/products.
  • Keep inventory organized & in an area allotted to that item number according to the warehouse bin system.
  • Operate a forklift & other equipment/tools in a safe & efficient manner.
  • Perform pickup & delivery when required.
  • Operate the vehicle in a safe manner at all times.
  • Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Load & unload several pieces of freight in a day.
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicle.
  • Ensure safe cargo securement.
  • Ensure work area is clean & organized.
  • Assist in other departments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Good time management & organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a Clean Driver’s Abstract.
  • Forklift Operator Certification.
  • Good Knowledge of Company Products & Services.

 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma preferred, Or,

  • 1 year related experience &/or training in inventory control or warehousing, or
  • Equivalent combination of education & experience.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit & stand; use hands & fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands & arms; & talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel & crouch.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.
  • The employee must frequently lift &/or move up to 20 pounds & occasionally lift &/or move up to 50 pounds.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to CRT computer displays, sharp objects & heavy objects which could endanger limbs; occasionally exposed to risk of burns.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low.
